confessions of a shutter girl

Thanks for popping by and checking out my not-at-all top secret photojournal!  Here you'll discover lots of different images featuring the many wonderful people, places, and things I am lucky enough to document.  As my photography journey unfolds, I am finding more delight in the unexpected and embracing my role as a storyteller.  This blog is still under construction so please excuse the dust until it is all finalized.  Meanwhile, please visit often and leave a comment---I love those!

take better pictures!

All this happens in a fun, casual, and relaxed setting! Of course, in order to get in touch with your inner photographer, this class is adults only.

You really can capture the extraordinary in those ordinary moments of your everyday life. And that’s priceless. Since a post always needs pics…here are a few moments from Caroline’s (my niece) b-day party at Whim Wham Art Studio!

Meet Scout!

There’s no doubt this post is way overdue along with a slew of photo sessions waiting to be posted. I’ll just blame it all on sleep deprivation. As you can see, he is absolutely melt-your-heart adorable. Friends have described him in the following ways: crazy cute, over-the-top precious, beautiful…well, you get the picture. That brand of cuteness served him well when I was picking up poop in the living room or being awoken at 3:00 a.m. or sadly dumping yoga pants (rips) and shoes (deep razor chew marks) into the trash bin. Folks, I’m not going to candy-coat it, puppyville isn’t for the faint hearted! Of course, just when I’m ready to reach my exasperation level, Scout will strategically curl up into my lap. As he leans his cuddly self into me, that’s the moment all the shenanigans (did I mention he’s highly skilled at digging holes?) are instantly forgotten. And all I can do is sigh, and think “Oh, he’s perfect.”

first day of spring!
